A Different View

This is the greatest “room with a view” I’ve ever had! I suppose that whether on a mountain top, airliner window, observation deck or just a roof-top, there is the moment of seeing things from a perspective not afforded us at ground level.

From this Lantern Room it is easier to see why a lighthouse is needed in our community. Dangers abound: domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, teen pregnancy, abortions, theft, cheating, lawlessness, etc, all make navigating more difficult in our resort environment. We call it a “community” but there is no cohesive purpose demonstrated by local leadership, not even in the churches, so I’ll stay with “environment” for now.

Jesus said the things that proceed from the heart are those that ruin someone. The dangers I mention are just a few on a long list of evil activities that proceed from the heart of men (and women and children). Jesus also stated that He had come to give us “abundant life” in exchange for the corrupted ones we have.

The Bible says Jesus is the true light that gives light to every man. To be guided by Him would help us steer clear of the damaging influences and sin that so easily derails us!
